At this time

United-As-One

We will honor our country by taking part in a Patriotic Program:

A SALUTE TO THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

My name is Petty Officer Jim Cava, United States Navy Retired

I am a combat decorated veteran who served our country proudly

As a corpsman, a medic, with the 5th Marines in the Vietnam War

As founder of Operation Red, White and Blue

I continue to serve our country proudly

By Fostering and Upholding

OUR AMERICAN HERITAGE, PRINCIPLES AND PATRIOTISM

 FOR OUR CREATOR AND COUNTRY

My fellow Americans

Today is a special day because today you will learn:

Why our country

The United States of America is great!

And why you are great!

To begin our patriotic program, please stand for our National Anthem

Because some of you feel embarrassed

Because some of you feel self-conscious

And because some of you just don't know the words

I will lead you in the recitation of our National Anthem

And there is no law that says we cannot recite the words to our National Anthem

Everyone, please look at our flag and place your hands on your hearts?

United-As-One

Let us recite

THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER

Please repeat after me!

THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER

Oh, say can you see

By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed

At the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars

Through the perilous fight,
Over the ramparts we watched

Were so gallantly streaming
And the rocket's red glare

The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night

That our flag was still there
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner

Yet wave
Over the land of the free

And the home of the brave

That was great!

Give yourselves a big heartfelt round of applause!

¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶

That which is not loved - withers and dies!

Patriotism is love, support and defense of one's country.

American Patriotism is love for the Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans who founded our country

And the fundamental and undeniable principles for which she stands:

HONOR

To Be Good

LIBERTY

To Be Free

EQUALITY

To Be One

JUSTICE

To Be Fair

HUMANITY

To Be Kind

American Patriotism is love for the Honorable Patriotic Americans who respect our principles

And love for the Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans who defend our country.

American Patriotism is loyal support for our very American principles.

And American Patriotism is defense of our country:

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

American Patriotism was the Honorable Spirit of our forefathers

Based upon an absolute moral belief in basic human rights

Upheld and defended with invincible determination

That forged a great nation, our nation.

It is that same spirit that remains the lifeblood of our country

And it comes from the heart and soul of a true American.

A principle is a fundamental truth

A guide for good behavior by which one directs one’s life.

Our American Principles and Values are one and the same.

Our American Principles show us the way:

To do - What is Right!

To be - A Person of Good Character!

And To be - All That We Can Be by Learning and Respecting!

It is imperative to disassociate the Honorable Principles America stands-for

From the dishonorable behavior of unprincipled Americans - no matter who they are nor pretend to be.

For the Honorable Principles America stands-for are innately and virtuously pure / essentially and perfectly complete

And can never be associated with the dishonorable behavior of unprincipled Americans - no matter who they are nor pretend to be.

Our American Principles and Honorable Americans are what make our country great.

Our American Principles and Honorable Americans are the essence of American Patriotism.

We hold these truths to be self-evident

That all people are created equal

That all people are made the same

With a Heart and a Soul!

With a Body and a Mind!

That no one is better than you

That you are no better then someone else

That it is wrong to bully someone else

That it is wrong to make-fun-of someone else

That all people are endowed by their Creator

With certain unalienable, natural, rights

That among these natural rights are:

LIFE

That it is right for all people to Live

LIBERTY

That it is right for all people to be Free

And the pursuit of HAPPINESS

That it is right for all people to be Happy

And we do want to be Happy - Don't we?

Of course we do!

Give yourselves a big heartfelt round of applause!

With the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE

Our forefathers proclaimed to the whole world

Their strong belief in the basic rights of all people

And a new and free nation was born, our country:

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The CONSTITUTION of our country

The basic instrument of our government

And the supreme law of our land

Founded upon the essential rights of all people

Is the embodiment of democratic principles

With the promise that those essential rights

Will be respected and protected.

To quote our Sixteenth President

“And that government

Of the people

By the people

For the people

Shall not perish from the earth.”

~  Abraham Lincoln, Sixteenth President (1861-1865)

Let's hear it for:

Abraham Lincoln - Our Sixteenth President

The United States is:

The land of the free and the home of the brave

And truly the greatest nation in the world.

AMERICA

My country, 'tis of Thee,
Sweet Land of Liberty
Of thee I sing
Land where my fathers died
Land of the pilgrims' pride
From every mountain side
Let Freedom ring

Loyal and selfless

Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic Vietnam Veteran answered the call-of-duty

And defended the unalienable rights to:

Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness

For the good people of South Vietnam

When Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic Americans returned home

There was - no welcome home.

Undesirable - unpatriotic - unappreciative citizens

GOD BLESS THE USA

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I'd thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I'm proud to be and American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

I had the distinct privilege of singing the following song:

THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

For the Vietnam Woman's Memorial Dedication Ceremony

In Washington DC - Veterans Day 1993

Today I dedicate this special song

To all Our Honorable and Courageous - Gracious and Incomparable Patriotic American Women

Who have served or who are serving our country in The Armed Forces and/or the Public Safety of the United States

And to all truehearted American Women

Thank God for you.

THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings

Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings

Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic American Prisoners-of-War living and dead

And in reverent and everlasting gratitude to all

Our Honorable and Brave Patriotic American Prisoners-of-War and Missing-in-Action

Still unaccounted-for

They shall never-be-forgotten.

AMERICAN PRISONER OF WAR

Far away in Indo-China

I’m held captive imprisoned here

Can it be I’ve been forgotten

Has my country deserted me

I’m an American who defended liberty

Answered my country’s call

And gave my all

But you see I’m enslaved here

Abandoned all alone

If you remember hear my plea

Pray for me / Set me free

Tell all the world, I’m not forgotten

Nor the blood and the tears I have shed

Endless hours of endless torment

Each lonely day, slowly I waste-away

But I maintain and I hang-on

Never yielding / I carry-on

If you remember hear my plea

Pray for me / Set me free

Tell all the world, I’m not forgotten

Nor the blood and the tears I have shed

Tell all the world, I’m not forgotten

How much pain must I sustain

I’m an American who defended liberty

Answered my country’s call

And gave my all

But you see I’m enslaved here

Abandoned all alone

If you remember hear my plea

Pray for me / Set me free

Set me free - Set me free - Set me free - Set me free

Set me free - Set me free - Set me free - Set me free
